College gear sessions are one of my favorite ways to wrap up a senior’s chapter before everything changes.
Ava is heading to Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania this fall, and we kept her session easy, casual, and completely her – which is exactly what it should be! Her Swarthmore College sweatshirt and her favorite cutoff jean shorts kept it simple and fun. We started at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden for some cool urban backgrounds, and then headed over to her high school for a few shots there.
I’ve had the privilege of photographing Ava a few times over the years. She was around 8 or 9 years old the first time — climbing a tree in her front yard, as I recall. Then middle school. And now this. Watching her grow into the confident, capable young woman she is today has been such a highlight.
Congratulations, Ava. Swarthmore is lucky to have you!!
